Dr. Shelby Hampton

Dr. Hampton grew up right here in Spring, TX, so this is where she calls home. But she also has a special affinity for New Orleans, where she was born and went to college.

Dr. Hampton has always had a special interest in the adolescent and young adult populations, and she always will. She enjoys educating young ladies and promoting self-worth and self-care.

She graduated from Loyola University in 1997 and then attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She did her obstetrics & gynecology residency downtown at UT Houston, and shortly after finishing there joined a private practice in The Woodlands where she met Dr. Turner. Less than three years later the two of them branched off and opened this practice, 1st Choice Obstetrics & Gynecology. They have been providing excellent, personalized healthcare to the women of this area ever since.

Dr. Hampton has always had a special interest in the adolescent and young adult populations, and she always will. She enjoys educating young ladies and promoting self-worth and self-care. However, as she has grown with her patient population, she has developed a greater appreciation for taking care of women during all stages of their lives. And possibly the neatest thing in her opinion - although it dates her - is now taking care of some of the babies she delivered years ago!

Personal

Dr. Hampton’s time outside of work is spent focused on her family, friends, and faith. (She throws a few early morning workouts in there too!) She has a teenage son who is the center of her universe.  He is about to start his senior year of high school, playing varsity football, and getting ready to head off to college in the fall of 2025.  Her heart will go with him, but she’ll stay here doing office gynecology and taking care of her mom. (And having coffee with friends!) In an effort to free up her evenings and weekends, to be more available for her family, Dr. Hampton will no longer be accepting OB patients after this year.  She has had the honor and privilege of delivering babies and taking care of pregnant women for over 20 years. Moving forward, she will focus on routine gynecology, hormone replacement, and weight loss management.
